SABPA’s External Relations Committee was founded right after the Association was established in 2002.  Dr. Hui Cai served as the committee chair until late 2005, and Drs. Xiao-Xiong Lu and Daniel Gong served as the chair and co-chair from 2005 to summer 2009.  Currently, the committee is led by Ms. Li-Ming Liang.  The main goal of the External Relations Committee is to foster relationships with sister professional organizations primarily in the San Diego area to help organizing and promoting SABPA events.

 

We have established relationships with a number of organizations such as American Chemical Society (ACS) San Diego Chapter, Association for Women in Science (AWIS) San Diego Chapter, BIOCOM, BVS, Chinese Association for Science and Technology San Diego Chapter (CAST-SD), CONNECT, San Diego Biotechnology Network (SDBN), San Diego Chinese Association (SDCA), San Diego World Trade Center, SAPA West, Society of Chinese Bio-Scientists in America (SCBA), University of California San Diego (UCSD), US-China Entrepreneurs Association (UCEA), and We Chinese.  We have successfully worked with all of these organizations in organizing and promoting SABPA events.  In addition, we maintain a contact database for almost all of biotech related institutions and companies in the San Diego area to help reaching out to these organizations.  Going forward, we will continue to broaden our network of sister organizations and institutional contacts to help SABPA fulfill its mission.
