SABPA Committee - Pacific Alliance

The Pacific Alliance & Entrepreneurship Committee was established in 2005 to create a platform within SABPA and the Southern California life science community to facilitate and promote cross-Pacific alliances with Chinese life science organizations, companies, and business leaders.  Since its inception, this committee with its core team, other SABPA leaders, and numerous dedicated volunteers has successfully launched and established the annual SABPA Pacific Forum on Life Sciences Alliances as the most influential and widely attended annual conference on this subject organized by a non-profit organization. In December 2008, Entrepreneurship became a separate committee named Entrepreneurs Club.

The annual SABPA Pacific Forum has explored key trends in outsourcing, licensing, investment, legal & regulatory issues, and talent recruiting in the cross-Pacific space by inviting influential thought leaders and practitioners in their respective fields.  The Pacific Forum quickly became a flagship SABPA annual conference that drew increasing mainstream media attention and growing major corporate sponsorship in the past three years.

The Pacific Alliance Committee also helped to organize numerous delegation visits from key life science hubs in China, serving as a bridge between life science entities across the Pacific and providing invaluable opportunities to network and educate among diverse groups.  Due to the heavy business focus, this committee has also become an effective training ground for emerging SABPA leaders, attracting increasing number of new and enthusiastic volunteers who gain valuable experience in business development, fund-raising, public relations, corporate communications, alliance & project management, negotiation, team building, and leadership from being a part of a winning team.  Our committee is dedicated to the success of SABPA, its mission, and its members.  We always welcome new and energetic volunteers who are eager and driven to make a difference.
