Research Associate and Scientist - Protein Chemistry (Multiple Positions)

Accelagen is seeking candidates to fill full-time Research Associate or Research Scientist level positions. Extensive experience with protein purifications is required for these positions.

Accelagen will have an information booth at 7th SABPA Education and Career Development Even and will meet with the interested candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks in all aspects of recombinant protein construction, expression and purification.

• Purify proteins using AKTA systems and characterize proteins using biochemical techniques.

• Perform cell culture work, and carry out large scale protein expression in bacteria, insect and mammalian cells.

• General laboratory duties including dish washing, buffer preparation, shipping and receiving, keeping inventory and ordering of lab supplies.

Qualifications:

• Minimally BS in Life Science area with 2+ years' laboratory experience is required.

• Must have hands-on experience in protein purification and characterization.

• Must have experience in molecular biology techniques.

• Extensive experience with AKTA systems or similar automated instrumentations.

• Experience with large scale microbial fermentation and process development is a plus but not required.

• Must be able to strictly follow SOPs, maintain accurate and complete laboratory notebooks and quality control records.
