Changzhou is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta and the southern part of Jiangsu Province . It's at halfway between Shanghai and Nanjing . With Suzhou and Wuxi as its neighbors, the three cities form the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou area, which is the most developed area in Jiangsu Province .
Changzhou is noted for its economic and cultural prosperity and social development. In 2009, Changzhou 's GDP reached USD 37.05 billion. Changzhou ranks No.11 among Forbes ‘Best Commercial Cities' in China in 2009, and ranks No.7 in the Nationwide Innovation Environment Campaign among the cities in China . There are more than 5,500 foreign companies in Changzhou . Among them, 46 Fortune 500 companies are included.
The Changzhou delegation is led by the party Secretary Yanqing Fan. Yanqing Fan will introduce Changzhou city and the Changzhou Biomedical Incubator as well as its policies to attract enterprises, investors and entrepreneurs. Yanqing Fan will also talk about Changzhou city success stories. Other delegates attending include government officers in charge of business, science & technology, human resources, foreign affairs as well as General Managers of the Changzhou Fangyuan Pharmaceutical Company and Changzhou Broadcast and Television Development Company.
Changzhou boasts an excellent education system and scientific research institutes, enjoys the reputation of “the ancient community of scholarship and modern metropolis of innovation”.
