Lecture Title: "The Road from Novel Drug Discovery in China to Clinical Trial in the USA"

Lecture Summary: Dr. XiFu Liu will discuss the progress of his company from instigation to the present day and strategic decisions that helped the company attain regulatory approval for a Phase II clinical trial in the United States of a novel biological therapy developed in China.

Speaker: XiFu Liu, Ph.D., President, Zensun U.S.A., Inc.

Dr. Liu obtained his Ph.D. from the prestigious Institute of Genetics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and undertook postdoctoral training at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Liu has authored 20 original research papers in peer-reviewed international journals.

In 2000, Dr. Liu founded Zensun (Shanghai) Sci & Tech Co., Ltd. with Dr. Mingdong Zhou, and together they developed a multidisciplinary research team, establishing technology platforms for novel drug development. Dr. Liu played a major role in the development of all of Zensun's patent applications. Currently, Dr. Liu heads Zensun's clinical trial efforts of NeucardinTM, a "first-in-class" patented biologic developed in China for treatment of chronic heart failure.
