
An i ntern position is now opening in Nitto Denko Technical Corporation located at Oceanside . The qualified candidate will participate in the animal study mainly work at UCSD collaboration lab. This position has the opportunity to be transferred to a full time employee.
DESCRIPTION Candidate is responsible for maintaining the experimental and physical environment of a group of assigned laboratory animals in a lab .; P erforms basic animal handling and animal observation post experiment (surgery) and related tasks ; Performs basic cell culture, performs minor procedures such as blood collection, tissue and organ harvesting. All technical procedures as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Willing to work with small animal (mouse or rat) ; Skilled in laboratory specimen collection techniques (blood, tails, other tissues and organ collection.) ; Knowledge of buffer and media preparation ; Working knowledge of sterile techniques for cell culture ; Familiarity with the use and maintenance of basic lab equipment s , including centrifuges, pipet t ing ; devices and balances etc are required . Ability to follow lab safety protocols ; Excellent organizational skills, including ability to prioritize work and maintain accurate and complete records in laboratory and data notebooks .
MD education background is preferred but not required.
Ability to operate PC's (including printers) with skill s in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel and record keeping or other software packages used by the lab ; Ability to follow oral and written instructions ; Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Close interaction with supervisor, and good communication skills are essential.
All animal related techniques will be trained by the supervisor in the lab.
