Job Functions

 

  • Support the business development effort of senior sales, creating strategies and executing tactics to develop and implement new growth of accounts and point of contacts in the assigned region
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and effectively qualifying marketing leads for further sales process
  • Generate new sales leads and create new points of contact to increase overall growth of accounts
  • Represent the company to attend industry tradeshows and company sponsored events
  • Track and record activities and account/prospect information
  • Develop and maintain high-level scientific and technical knowledge of our products, new product developments and awareness of competitors’ products
  • Provide an excellent customer service/technical support to customers and offer advice about product and service selection
  • Develop clear and effective written project proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
  • Generate oral and written reports as needed for management
  • Conduct telesales, customer services, and conference calls to existing and prospective customers
  • Assist in other marketing functions including market research and marketing content development

 

Preferred Background/Requirements

 

  • BS degree in biology or life sciences minimum; advanced degree preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of next generation sequencing and genomics
  • Excellent communication skills via email, phone call, and in-person meetings
  • Experience selling genomics-related technologies or services preferred
  • Independent, self-driven, and goal-oriented
  • Motivated and successful individual who enjoys a challenging and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM database programs a plus
  • Primarily office-based with up to 25% travel
  • Requires American citizenship or with working permit in the US
