1. SABPA Holiday Greetings

 

Dear SABPA volunteers and friends,

 

As the year 2022 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to congratulate all of you on your hard work and dedication to our organization. Despite the challenges and uncertainty brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, you have persevered and continued to serve the SoCal community with excellence.

 

We are especially proud of the way SABPA adapted to new challenges and found ways to safely resume onsite events. Our efforts have made a significant impact on the biomedical industry and have helped to advance our missions. 

 

We are especially grateful for the support from our event speakers, sponsors, and event attendees. As we look ahead to the new year, we want to wish each and every one of you a very happy 2023. May it be a year filled with health, happiness, and continued success for both you and SABPA. Thank you for all that you do, and here's to an even brighter future together.

2. The 7th Annual SABPA Frontiers in Therapeutics and Diagnostics (FTD) Forum

 

When: Saturday, February 4th, 2023

 

Where: Hilton San Diego/Del Mar, 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA

 

The annual SABPA Frontiers in Therapeutics and Diagnostics (FTD) Forum is one of the flagship events of SABPA. The 7th FTD Forum will bring together a panel of high-caliber experts and key opinion leaders to share their insights and research findings.

3. SABPA membership renewal announcement



In the past two and half years, SABPA has waived membership fees for all SABPA members due to Covid. This waiver will be coming to a close by the end of 2022 and SABPA will resume the pre-Covid membership policy starting from January 1, 2023. Because of that, all current memberships- excluding lifetime members and newly joined members- will expire at the end of this year. For current SABPA members, we encourage you to renew your SABPA membership. For those who share the SABPA spirit but have not become a SABPA member, please consider joining now.

 

The key benefits of SABPA membership include:  

  • Discount rate for all SABPA events year‐round including major conferences  

  • SABPA voting rights  

  • Eligibility to run for the SABPA board of directors (for lifetime members only) or to be appointed to the chapter committee leadership team

1). Dr. Xing Yang, SABPA member

 

On December 26, 2022, bioMérieux and Accunome Sciences announced that they signed a strategic partnership in China. The partnership initially includes a strategic investment by bioMérieux in Accunome and exclusive distribution of the Accunome product portfolio by bioMérieux in China. Through this partnership, bioMérieux and Accunome will establish collaboration on molecular diagnostics in the Chinese market and accelerate the growth of bioMérieux’s molecular diagnostics business in China.

2023 CABS INVESTOR FORUM

Chinese American Bio/Pharmaceutical Society (CABS) is pleased to announce that the 2023 CABS Investor Forum will be held on January 11th of 2023 in conjunction with JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. In the post-COVID era, pharmaceutical innovation, medical technology, and healthcare continue to be the major areas of licensing and venture capital investment globally. This forum will feature two-panel discussions joined by investors, lawyers, business development executives, and entrepreneurs. The topics will focus on investment trends, licensing, and strategic considerations, as well as new opportunities and challenges in life sciences.

 

Please join Morrison Foerster at the 2023 Chinese American Bio/Pharmaceutical Society (CABS) Investor Forum on January 11, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PST in conjunction with the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.

 

This event will be hybrid, with in-person programming hosted in Morrison Foerster’s San Francisco office.
