Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing functional protein products by using cutting-edge protein expression and purification technologies. The duties include design and implement gene-to-protein workflows to produce high-quality recombinant proteins for use as a research reagent, work with a R&D team of scientists on protein expression, purification, and characterization from both prokaryotic or eukaryotic expression platforms. Essential Functions

  • Develop new products under ISO9001:2008/ISO13485:2016 standards.
  • Select, design and produce immunogens from prokaryotic or eukaryotic expression systems to facilitate antibody product development.
  • Develop and run purification schemes using various chromatography methods on varies platforms (i.e. Akta FPLC, HPLC).
  • Characterize and quantify protein expression, homogeneity, and stability.
  • Design, establish, execute and validate different protein chemistry protocols such as protease cleavage and conjugation
  • Actively involved in defining, designing and developing relative biological methods for products validation with application teams for both new product development and current product improvement projects.
  • Facilitate Manufacturing Group for purification/QC work flow development and SOP optimizing/ troubleshooting in varies production stages including expression constructs, culture systems, purification schemes, formulation and stability issues.
  • Establish, coordinate and communicate project timelines and deliverables with internal and external product development teams.
  • Lead and manage a protein development team and be responsible for personnel training, goal setting and performance management.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the protein chemistry, synthetic biology, and scientific literature. Identify, validate and, when appropriate, implement novel techniques and technologies.
  • Prepare and present experimental results following Good Document Practices.
  • Assist and train other research associates to meet the company performance standard.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications  Education and Experience

  • B.S. with generally more than 12 yrs of relevant experiences.
  • M.S. with generally more than 10 yrs of relevant working experiences.
  • Ph.D. with generally 3-5 years of post-doctoral training or relevant working experiences.

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Experiences in signaling factors (i.e. Wnt proteins, interleukins …etc), cell surface proteins/ receptors (i.e. Frizzled, Notch…etc) or structural biology is highly preferred.
  • Technical skills including recombinant protein design, prokaryotic protein purification, refolding, protein solubility and buffer formulation, conjugation, or protein characterization is a plus; prior working experiences under ISO13485/GMP environment is also a good plus
