Job Description:

The Scientist / Senior Scientist will play a critical role in the fast-paced In Vitro Biology team. She/he is expected to contribute to assay development, CRO services, product development and internal R&D programs. She/he must demonstrate proficiency in relevant technical skills, as well as leadership to train and guide junior team members. The Scientist / Senior Scientist must have excellent written & oral communication skills. She/he must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments.

 

Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to meet the agreed upon deliverables and timelines
  • Independently design and perform molecular biology and cell-based studies with minimal instructions
  • Responsible for assay development and optimization to test articles including small molecule compounds, antibodies, antisense oligos, siRNAs, etc.
  • Accurately interpret data, communicate experimental results and generate project reports
  • Search literatures and utilize external resources to support ongoing projects
  • Participate in both CRO services and internal R&D projects    
  • Involve in cross-functional collaborations to support other groups if needed

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or other related fields
  • Expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques, such as cell culture, DNA/RNA transfection, flow cytometry, immunoblot, qPCR, virus production & infection, etc.
  • Experience with plate-based and cell-based pharmacology assays and automated workstation are desirable
  • Proficiency in data analysis and strong experiment troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
  • Ability to multitask across various research areas/projects
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a highly cooperative team
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and other software/websites for sequence analysis and data graphing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
