WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

Sorrento Therapeutics (“Sorrento”) is seeking an experienced Research Associate. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with extensive expertise in molecular

and cellular Immunology to join group for next generation of CAR-T/DAR-T technology  and product research and development including vector design, molecular cloning, CAR-T generation, and in vitro and in vivo functional assays of engineering T cells.  

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

  • Participate in study design and optimize experiments, coordinate with team members, and direct report to execute program workflows, organize and analyze results, determine appropriate follow-up experiments. 
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain program progress according to established timelines and adjust research focus as necessary to ensure progress is on-track.
  • Support research scientists on the development of gene-editing based allogeneic products for engineered T cell immunotherapies including evaluating gene modification efficiency and their impact on the potency of developed cell products.
  • Aseptic isolation and culture of primary T cells, activation, transfection, expansion of T cells.
  • Assist with research projects to meet the group and company goals.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and can write SOP and technical reports

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology or related biological disciplines with >1 year relevant laboratory experience or Master's degree with 0-2 years relevant laboratory experience.
  •  Ability to work independently and effectively in a highly collaborative team environment. 
  •  Previous experience with aseptic cell culture, and characterization is preferred.
  •  Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and vector construction is preferred, but not required.
  •  Detailed oriented, strong organizational, record keeping and communication skills.
