Accunome Sciences, Inc. is a San Diego based company developing a fully automated sample-to-answer molecular diagnostic system and a portfolio of diagnostics tests for critical diseases.  Accunome has an immediate opening for a full-time Research Associate.  We are seeking a highly-motivated and collaborative individual to join our R&D team in San Diego.

The qualified candidate will participate in the development of molecular assay panels for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) applications. He/she will execute testing in accordance to pre-written protocols; document, analyze and summarize results; and integrate the documentation and results into reports to support completion of project assignments. The candidate will be reporting directly to our project lead scientist.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments based on company goal and team objectives.
• Understand and adhere to the standard test procedures and protocols.
• Maintain the lab in accordance of Good Lab Practice and keep the instruments in best condition and monitor the usage of the reagents and consumables.
• Write experimental summaries and technical reports based on the experimental data.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor or Master degree in a scientific discipline (biochemistry, molecular biology or related field) with at least 1 year of research or industrial laboratory experience.
• Competence with the skills in sample preparation, PCR reagent preparation, PCR and other instrument operation, data analysis.
• Understanding of experimental design and basic skills in statistics.

Experience:  1 year research laboratory or industry (Preferred).

Education: Bachelor's (Required) or Master in biochemistry, biology or related fields.
