Job Summary: This position will primarily support the review and generation of quotations of queries for in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies and Biology preclinical studies. The candidate should have a biology background, be detailed oriented and well organized. This position requires someone who works independently to ensure proposal deadlines are met and studies are budgeted appropriately. Candidate with a scientific background in target discovery, drug development in various disease areas and contract writings are preferred.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for writing and reviewing proposals, calculating budgets, designing study outlines for in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies, various disease efficacy studies including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, etc. and preclinical studies including HTS screening, cell line engineering, various functional cell-based assays, immunology studies, etc.
  • Responsible for communicating with clients in a timely manner
  • Responsible for coordinating proposal writing within the team and various leaders from other departments.
  • Coordinates multiple review levels, including Executive review.
  • Performs final formatting in Word and Excel
  • Maintains all electronic files/budgets/ contracts on file server
  • Leads the study budget development process by working with various team leaders and Third-party vendors.
  • Upon contract award, serves as BD department point of contact for team leaders and clients to transition the contract to the research team.
  • Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
  • Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel
  • Ability to work in a team environment and / or independently as required
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned
  • May be required to assist in other departments
  • May participate in study discussion during client’s visits and teleconferences
  • Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material

 

Job Requirements:

Experience / Education   

  • Over 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent (BS, MS, Ph.D)
  • Background in biology is Required
  • Experience working at a CRO is a plus

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Able to read, write and understand English
  • Strong administrative skills and proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • General knowledge in biology/ pharmaceutical research preferred. Candidate must be able to understand the language and meaning of various research projects
  • Time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interactive and collaborative approach
  • Must be detail-oriented, have strategic planning skills and capability to multi-task, ensuring that all tactical details are managed efficiently and effectively
