This position will be a key team member in the research and development organization and will be leading the translational medicine function at I-Mab’s San Diego location. You will have a direct impact on our science and will help to build our reputation in the US and our capability as a team. You will also shape the I-Mab culture and be a part of a passionate, transparent, and collaborative work environment.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides scientific leadership in areas of biomarker discovery, development (biology, preclinical and clinical).
  • Manages and mentors a team of translational scientists to explore and implement new biomarkers of clinical relevance.
  • Establishes a fully functional translational research lab in accordance with GCP/GLP requirement and potentially towards a CLIA/CAP-certified lab.
  • Establishes a network of academic external collaborations for new discover and TM opportunity
  • As the TM interface, collaborate and communicate efficiently with other internal functions/sites.  

Qualifications

  • PhD and/or MD in related field required
  • At least 5 years related working experiences
  • Strong scientific knowledge of immunobiology and oncology is desired
  • Direct management experiences desired
  • Open to new challenges, excels at multi-tasking, hands-on, flexible and a team player
  • Demonstrated experience in drug development process, including multiple regulatory submissions
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral; ability to communicate complex information succinctly
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects, initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at driving collaboration, achieving results, influencing, and resolving conflicts across internal and external project teams
  • Bilingual native level proficiency in both speaking and written English and Chinese (mandarin)
